My practice is currently full and I am not accepting clients for focused psychotherapy alone or alongside medication management. My practice includes - Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) an evidenced based, action oriented treatment for coming to a place of greater peace with thoughts and feelings, being present with what is and making shifts to cultivate what you want in life, gentle and effective adaptations of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help heal and integrate from difficulties, fears or traumas and narrative like Lifespan Integration psychotherapy to aid in both healing and creating a sense of a cohesive past that allows for forward momentum for adults 18 - 64 y.o. I bring in nervous system education and somatic regulation practices to increase the ability to be more settled and present in the here and now. My approach is whole person-centered, collaborative, integrative and social justice informed.
From the beginning, we collaborate on your goals with therapy to live into a life that has meaning and enjoyment for you. I come from a weight neutral framework towards health and often incorporate anti-inflammatory approaches including nutrition (additive, not restrictive), joyful movement/effortful recreation, nature connection, sleep support, social/community connectedness and mindfulness into your care. My style is warm, attuned, curious and creative. My practice is relational and I use psychotherapy to provide compassionate and attuned support, move towards peace with one’s emotions (especially the sticky ones), enhance flexibility in thinking, move towards holding the complexity and contradictions of life with more ease and values alignment. We will develop strategies complementary to those already being used. My approach is flexible to best suit your wants and needs with a focus on workability in your life, incorporating your strengths and all you already know. I work with a variety of issues including: anxiety, depression and bipolar spectrum issues, attentional issues, trauma (individual, relational, inter-generational, and structural), relationship issues including rupture-repairs and embodied boundaries work, grief - including around climate change and how things are going in the world, financial stress, sexuality questioning and gender explorations, body image and eating issues, etc. For addictions, I support a range of approaches including harm reduction/relapse prevention and abstinence. I am LGBTQIA+, poly, monogamy, kink friendly and affirming. I believe in racial and disability justice and that this is an active, ongoing process of learning and growing across our lifetimes, within our own bodies and in community to transform our legacies and the nuanced ways they intersect. With reverence, I acknowledge that we are on the traditional land of the first people of Seattle, the Duwamish People, past, present and future and honor with gratitude the land itself, the Duwamish Tribe and all of the Coast Salish people. |
